19th International Berlin Beer Festival

From 7th to 9th August the 19th International Berlin Beer Festival is taking place at its traditional area along Karl-Marx-Allee between Strausberger Platz and Frankfurter Tor.
About 800,000 visitors from all over the world will meet right in the centre of Berlin at the „World´s Longest Beer Garden“ ( Guinness World Record 2011 ).
On 2.2 km visitors will be enthusiastic about finding 340 breweries from 87 countries offering 2,400 unique beer specialities, and 22 beer regions presenting their culinary specialities.On 20 stages national and international bands will play live music. And all this is admission free. Each year a different country , a special region or theme is at the centre of attention.For example, it was the Czech Republic in 2008, Belgium in 2009, Vietnam in 2010. In 2011, on the occasion of the 15th International Berlin Beer Festival, a new Guinness World Record was set up. In 2012 beers of the Baltic region, in 2013 Poland, and last year craft-brewed beer specialities were in the focus of attention.
This year´s motto is : Experience the Bier- und Burgenstraße. The festival beers of 2015 will for example be represented by „Vereinsbrauerei Apolda“ offering ist tangy-fresh Apoldaer Hefeweizen Hell, „Watzendorfer Traditions- und Spezialitätenbrauerei“ from Bad Blankenburg situated at the foot of Burg Greifenstein and offering ist Watzendorfer Festpils 1411, „Bürgerliche Brauhaus Saalfeld“ presenting ist Ur-Saalfelder, which was selected to be the best March-beer and awarded the European Beer Star of 2014.Further representatives of the Beer- and Burgenstraße are : „Bavarian Hofmark Brauerei“ at Loifling near Cham, Franconian „Mönchshof-Brauerei Kulmbach“, „Kulmbacher Brauerei“, „Franken Bräu“ from Mitwitz, „Rolschter Brauhaus“ from the former royal capital of Rudolstadt in Thuringia, the Franconian „Gambertbräu“ from Weißenbrunn, and „Schübelbräu“ from Stadtsteinach in Franconia.
